Priyanka Chopra disturbed by Punjabi man

Actress Priyanka Chopra got into a heated verbal argument with a Punjabi stranger in Delhi during promoting her film ‘7 Khoon Maaf’ in Tuesday evening. Priyanka spent her growing years in Rai Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh. This is the first time her Punjabi antecedents were questioned, and that too in full public view.

Said a member of Priyanka's entourage, "Priyanka was taken aback by the accusation. At first she laughed it off saying she is very much Punjabi. But the man kept piping in loudly with his allegation. Priyanka finally told him to shut up and quit before he faces the consequence of her wrath."

The man soon after disappeared from the venue, but Priyanka, known to be extremely warm to fans, was hurt by the vehemence of the accusation. Apparently the man kept insinuating she had done nothing for Punjab and Punjabis.

The spokesperson for ‘7 Khoon Maaf’ confirmed the incident adding: "It was weird and inopportune. Priyanka's Punjabiyat had nothing to do with the occasion. We don't know where the man came from and where he disappeared to. But the whole incident was suspicious."
Priyanka's father is Punjabi while her mother is from Jharkhand.

Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra enumerated seven ways to lose one`s Valentine. " Priyanka said”, after unveiling the press kit, which contained a rope, a syringe, a knife, a bottle of `poison`, a sachet of `potassium cyanide`, an ice pick and a strip of Viagra tablets, used for treating male erectile dysfunction.

It was but natural that when the occasion was Valentines Day and it was Priyanka taking the queries, media was eager to know about her `friendship` with co-actor Shahid Kapoor. Asked
about Shahid, Priyanka, sporting a mischievous grin, quipped:
"What about him?....my date is with you."

It was then left to Bhardwaj to `certify` the relationship when he said Bollywood has seen many hit pairs like Raj Kapoor-Nargis, Amitabh Bachchan-Rekha and Shahid Kapoor-Priyanka Chopra. This sent Priyanka into peals of laughter.

Ranbir have potential to follow "Big B"

Director Siddharth Anand feels the young actor has the potential to follow in the footsteps of megastar Amitabh Bachchan as the "complete Hindi film hero".

"The day Ranbir does an action film and does it well, he has the potential to fill the void that Bachchan created," said Anand who teamed up with Ranbir for the second time for his new romantic comedy ‘Anjaana Anjaani’ releasing Sep 24.

"Ranbir is the perfect guy to play Anthony (a character played by Big B in `Amar Akbar Anthony`), he can play coolie, he can play the characters Bachchan played in his prime. There is no one else but him," Anand told reporters.

"In `Anjaana Anjaani` there is a sequence where they are stranded in the middle of an ocean. It was the Pacific Ocean and he had to dive into the freezing waters. He did it even though he has aquaphobia," said the director.

Talking about the film that co-stars Priyanka Chopra, he said: " `Anjaana Anjaani` is the story of two strangers who meet in strange circumstances and then part as strangers. So it`s a very unique concept for a Hindi film, but it`s deep-rooted as a Hindi commercial film. It has songs, stories, beautiful locations and fabulous performances."

Siddharth says more than the actresses, he bonds well with actors.

"I am a hero`s director. I bond with my heroes more than I bond with my heroines. Once we become friends, I like to work with them repeatedly if they are okay with it. I have been fortunate enough to work with two superstars," said Anand.

Priyanka Chopra next in Vishal Bhardwaj

After successfully playing 12 roles of bride-to-be in What's Your Raashee?, Priyanka Chopra is finally playing the role of a bride, not to one man but seven different men. The actress is gearing up for yet another multiple role in Vishal Bhardwaj's next titled 7 Husbands.

"Vishal was very impressed with Priyanka while working with her in Kaminey. He always referred to her as a dedicated and devoted actress. While scripting for 7 Husbands, without any second thought, he made up his mind to cast the actress in the movie. Vishal also had seen the rushes and promos of What's Your Raashee? with her 12 different avatars and thought she carried it off really well and could do justice to her film."

"The movie is still in the scripting process. The movie will go on floors next year after Priyanka's dates are available and the seven actors are finalized," adds the source.

The source continues, "In 7 Husbands, Priyanka will again be seen in seven different avatars of wives to seven different men. She will have different get ups for each wife. The seven different actors for the role of husbands haven't been finalized as yet. They are in look out for serious actors who might not be A-listers."

Priyanka Chopra, has decided to take a much-needed break from the filmdom rat race in a bid to calm her nerves. With several superhits in her kitty toped by the current blockbuster ‘Kaminey’, Priyanka is all geared up to jet set for a rejuvenating vacation after 6 yrs of toiling in B-town.

The sizzler, who is now secure of her strong standing in the industry, had been suffering form severe exhaustion and had even fuelled rumours of fainting on the sets. So much so was the actress under stress that she was even seen going in and out of hospital.

But now the actress has decided to refuel her energy tank as she told reporters, “I needed this holiday for a while. I am listening to my doctors, that is, my parents. I am very excited about the holiday.”

And her father, Dr Ashok Chopra is much too relieved for her daughter. Speaking to reporters he said, “My daughter has gone on a well-deserved break. I cannot disclose the location, but she has gone eastwards. My wife and I will join her after five or six days.”

As for her health her close pals state that the actress is doing much better now. “Priyanka’s health is better now and she is happy with the way ‘Kaminey’ has fared. She needed to be away from Mumbai. She had earlier been on a couple of short breaks, but for the first time in her six years in Bollywood, she will be gone for more than two weeks”, said the pal.

Priyanka take challange for Marathi girl in Kaminey

Priyanka has played some extremely challenging roles in her filmy career and got sucess for her performances but now Priyanka found difficult to portray is that of a Marathi girl in Vishal Bhardwaj’s Kaminey.

Interestingly, Priyanka who plays Sweety, a blunt Maharashtrian girl in Kaminey had to adopt similar body language and Maharashtrian accent to suit the character. “I play the role of Sweety. She is a young college going girl. She is a different Maharashtrian girl.”

It is believed that Priyanka’s character has a naughty shade which she managed beautifully but she had to take a lot of efforts to learn Marathi language. It is believed that Priyanka took help of her Fashion co-actress Mugdha Godse to learn Marathi on the sets of Fashion.

This Punjabi girl admits that to speak Marathi wasn’t easy for her. “I am speaking a lot of Marathi in the film. It was difficult for me because it’s a difficult language and I am not good at Marathi. But I think it’s my luck that through Kaminey I got to learn one more language.”

Priyanka has shown an array of emotions in Fashion through different scenes. So which was Priyanka’s favourite scene in the film? “It is a very difficult pick. There were many favourite scenes. One of the most difficult scenes for me was the first time Meghna Mathur (Priyanka’s character in Fashion ) takes drugs at the night club and whatever happens thereafter. Honestly, I have had a huge stand against drugs. I always say no to drugs. I don’t know people who take drugs also. So I did not know what happens when one takes drugs and how one behaves after taking it. I had to go just by hearsay. Madhur informed me about the reactions of taking drugs and made me speak to a couple of people he knows. That entire sequence was very difficult for me.”

With such an astonishing performance, compliments are naturally pouring in for Priyanka. So which is the best compliment that Priyanka has received till now? “I am very grateful that people have liked the film and my performance. The best compliment that I got was through an SMS which said, ‘In this decade after Rani Mukherjee in Black , your’s was the best performance.’ I thought that was a bit exaggerated but I took it as a compliment.”
