Ranbir, more supportive towards Deepika

Deepika Padukone still seems to be riding high on the success of her last film ‘Housefull’, her ex-beau Ranbir Kapoor too has started exuding more confidence post his latest hit ‘Raajneeti’.

Although rumours have been rife about Ranbir approaching Deepika several times, hinting at the possibility of a patch-up with the actress, the latter has never looked interested. But now, Deepika has finally admitted that she doesn’t mind working with the Kapoor scion.

When asked if she’s already working on a project with Ranbir, the actress told a news daily, “Not yet, but I would like to.”

However, it seems that Deepika is completely over Ranbir now, for the actress has found a very special friend in her ‘Lafangey Parindey’ co-star Neil Nitin Mukesh.

“Neil has been the most supportive and encouraging co-star so far. He’s been there for me personally as well. I’ve made a friend for life,” said Deepika.

Talking about her role in much-awaited flick ‘Lafangey Parindey’, Deepika said, “Playing a blind girl, who’s a dancer on skates wasn’t easy. I used to shoot a particular scene with my eyes closed and then re-shoot with my eyes open.”

Most challenging role in " Lafangey Parindey"

Directed by Pradeep Sarkar, `Lafangey Parindey`, the latest offering of Yash Raj Films, stars Neil Nitin Mukesh and Deepika Padukone in lead roles and will release on August 20.

Actress Deepika Padukone, who is essaying the character of a visually impaired girl in her upcoming film `Lafangey Parindey` feels that this was the most challenging role of her acting career so far.

"To play a blind person when someone can see..to pretend to be blind despite having a vision...is really difficult. This is by far the most challenging role of my career," Deepika told reporters.

Deepika said, "The word Lafange isn`t negative. I think we all are Lafanagey when we do things differently and take up risk and challenges and do new things in life.

According to me, Akshay, John, Ranbir, Neil and my all co-stars are `Lafannge` as we take up challenges and do different things in every movie."

To get into the skin of Pinky Palkar, a dancer who is blind but ambitious and dances with roller skates on her feet, Deepika did some homework.

"I observed blind people... learnt how they react to surroundings... spent a lot of time with them. Also, scenes
were rehearsed by being blindfolded and then re-rehearsed with eyes open to compare performances," she said.

"But for this, one needs to be focused and it requires lot of concentration. While skating...I had hurt myself a lot and suffered bruises," she added.

The movie is about bike gangs in Mumbai. Neil plays the character of One Shot Nandu, a fighter who pummels his opponents in the ring blindfolded. He teaches her to see and she teaches him how to love, the actress said.

Kangna Should be highest spot in Bollywood

Having directed her in upcoming gangster film ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai’, Milan Luthria can`t stop raving about Kangna Ranaut`s acting skills and says she is yet to have her moment of glory in Bollywood.

The 23-year-old has bagged critical acclaim for her performance in movies like ‘Gangster’, ‘Woh Lamhe’, ‘Life in a... Metro’ and ‘Fashion’.

"Kangna is undervalued by our industry. She is immensely talented but has yet not touched the highest spot. But we`ll see her there in a very short while," Luthria told reporters.

"She brings to the screen a lot of sensuality and glamour. She carries off even skimpy outfits and different kind of looks. She is someone who has the body and the face to carry that," he added.

"Both Emraan and Kangna are very flamboyant in their approach. They`ve lived very dangerously with the kind of roles they`ve done and have always pushed the envelope...

"That`s what has given them a very commercial connect with the audience. They are like underdogs and do things that others don`t," the director added.
