Katrina Kaif want to play a typical love Film

Katrina scaled tremendous heights in her seven-year-old career, and pushing the boundaries with her performance in `Raajneeti`, she wants to do a typical Yash Chopra-type love story.

Currently shooting in Spain for Zoya Akhtar`s tentatively titled "Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara", which also features Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar and Abhay Deol, Katrina is also looking forward to the release of Farah Khan`s "Tees Maar Khan".

"In fact, right now, I would love to have a one boy-one girl Yashji type of love story in hand or, say, play a loud, boisterous girl - something on the lines of Hemaji`s role in `Seeta Aur Geeta`. Those are fun and interesting roles too. Why limit myself?" asked the 25-year-old.

She is basking in the success of Prakash Jha`s "Raajneeti" where she wowed the audiences as a young, madly-in-love girl who becomes a pawn in the game of politics. In the last 10 minutes of the film, she is seen playing a chief minister and manages to leave a strong impact on viewers.

So far the actress has managed to deliver hits. But Katrina is quick to counter the notion that she is a "formula" for filmmakers in search of a hit.

"I am no formula. It isn`t true that a film becomes a hit because of me. I always put a script above my own role. I always see a film in totality and not just on the basis of my role. The film comes first, the role comes second for me. It`s just that god has been very kind and my choices have mostly turned out be right," said Katrina.

"I don`t get scared. It`s wrong if people say a hit is expected of me all the time. Of course, everyone fears failure, but for me there is no added pressure to succeed. It is up to the audience to accept or reject a film and I am happy my audience has supported me so far," she said in a confident tone.

Raajneeti` gross UMMID SE JYADA in opening weekend

After 3 Idiots created a record by earning around Rs.93 crore (Rs.930 million/$20 million) in its opening weekend, It seems Prakash Jha`s political thriller has brought an end to Box Office drought by grossing about Rs 62 crore (Rs.620 million) worldwide in its opening weekend. Produced by UTV with around Rs.45 crore, the movie has been distributed by Prakash Jha Productions, Walkwater Media and UTV Motion Pictures and it hit close to 2,200 screens across the globe.

The gross Box Office collections of the film in India is more than Rs.51 crore (Rs.510 million) on 1,900 screens while it has witnessed gross Box Office collections of Rs.10.5 crore on 300 screens overseas.

In lead markets like Britain, US and the Gulf region, the movie has done business worth $315,048, $916,446 and $500,000, respectively.

Inspired by the Hindu epic Mahabharata, "Raajneeti" takes a behind-the-scenes look at the working of Indian politics and features an ensemble line-up, including the likes of Nana Patekar and Naseeruddin Shah, Ajay Devgn and Manoj Bajpai. Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif, along with model-turned-actor Arjun Rampal, also play pivotal roles in the movie.

No Essential scene in RAAJNEETI : Jha

Raajneeti` has finally got a UA certificate but not without some vital scenes, including Arjun Rampal and Katrina Kaif`s "aesthetically shot love making scene" that director Prakash Jha says was "absolutely essential", being edited out.

"It was a very aesthetically shot love making scene. Arjun and Katrina are two very beautiful people. And they made love to the camera. The Tribunal (Film Certification Appellate Tribunal) felt it was a bit too explicit for a ‘UA’ audience. I didn’t argue," Jha told reporters.

Jha’s weeklong battle with the censor board ended Wednesday with the Film Certification Appellate Tribunal in New Delhi viewing `Raajneeti` and granting it a ‘UA’ certificate.

The director had challenged the censor board’s decision earlier last week to grant `Raajneeti` an ‘A’ certificate with cuts.

Apparently, the censor board had earlier objected to two sequences - one showing the rigging of elections by fitting ballot boxes with specially designed gadgets and the other showing a female politician offering sex in exchange for an election ticket.

"An ‘A’ certificate brings on a specific mindset on the audience. They think the film has sleazy content. So I preferred to let the film be referred to the Tribunal," said Jha.

Also Arjun`s volatile character in "Raajneeti" shouts lurid and graphic expletives Hindi at a police officer. These remain intact while the `f` word is gone.

Should RAAJNEETI goes for IIFA Awards

Ajay Devgn, Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Arjun Rampal and Manoj Bajpai-starrer will have a seven-city global premiere and IIFA screening is the last-minute addition.

Raajneeti" will be screened at the IIFA awards, starting June 3 in Colombo and director Prakash Jha is panicky because he has to record a patriotic song before his political thriller goes on its global journey.

"Dhan dhan dharti" is the title of the patriotic song that Gulzar has written for "Raajneeti". The lyrics are being composed by the American composer Wayne Sharpe who has taken on the daunting task of incorporating the tune for "Vande Mataram" into Gulzar words.

"We`ve just taken the basic core notes of `Vande Mataram` and then built our own patriotic song almost from scratch," Jha said.

This is the first time that Gulzar has collaborated with an international composer. The idea was to find another global catch-phrase to equal the easy reach of Gulzar`s song "Jai Ho".

"We are not trying to be one-up on any other song. But the idea was to make the song reflective of the collective Indian psyche," said Jha.
