Review: ‘Hello Darling’

‘Hello Darling’ is marketed as a sex comedy, it offers nothing in either departments. The reason may be in the fact that the film is adapted by a Hollywood film called ‘Nine to Five’, which may well have been much funnier as per to the western taste, but here in for the average Bollywood junta, the film comes across as nothing but a dud.

Debutant director Manoj Tiwary made a good effort by portraying the evils of gender politics and sexual harassment at workplace, but in actuality, ‘Hello Darling’ hardly alludes to women power.

The story revolves around four people, a conniving personal assistant Candy (Celina Jaitly), the ideal exuberant corporate Mansi (Gul Panag), and newbie Satvati (Esha Koppikar) surrounded by their sexist, egotistical, liar, hypocritical bigot boss Hardik (Javed Jaffery).

The trio hatch a plan to bring Hardik down, seize control of the company and, well, teach a lesson to the male species. What follows is an expected chain of events that leads to the three women taking staggeringly stupid decision and dubious plotting disguised as a farce that frustratingly carries a socially relevant message for modern India.

There is plenty of skin show in ‘Hello Darling’ – check out the cleavage-flashing leading ladies, but for an exception of Eesha Koppikkar, who makes a commendable effort to get the Haryanvi lingo just right.

Rana Daggubatti's love scene with Bipasha

Rana Daggubatti, (Tollywood star) who will make his debut in Bollywood with 'Dum Maro Dum', says that he didn't comfortable to face any love scene with his co-star Bipasha Basu.

'I'm very lucky to have got along well with all my co-stars in my first Hindi film. It was a different world for me. Not that I am not familiar with Hindi films and stars. Our home production has been active in Hindi for decades. But I was never looked on as South-Indian star by my co-stars in 'Dum Maro Dum'.'
Directed by Rohan Sippy, 'Dum Maro Dum' also features Abhishek Bachchan and Aditya Pancholi.

Rana is the scion of the illustrious D. Ramanaidu production house. Listed in the Guinness World Records as the most prolific Indian producer with 110 films in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and other languages, the banner, though fully active and flourishing in Hyderabad, has become inactive in Hindi cinema after the failure of their last film 'Kuch Tum Kaho Kuch Hum Kahen' (2002).

Now Rana is all set to revive his family's banner in Mumbai with a spectacular Hindi film on the lines of D. Ramanaidu's Hindi blockbusters 'Premnagar' and 'Tohfa'. The Hindi project may star Rana with some of his 'Dum Maro Dum' actors.

MURDER-2 with Bipasa and Emraan Hasmi

We hear, producer Mukesh Bhatt is planning to make sequel of 2004's hit film MURDER, which starred Emraan Hashmi and Mallika Sherawat. However for the sequel, the makers have approached hottie Bipasha Basu to play the female lead. This is the first time we would see Emraan and Bipasha pair-up.

Bollywood seductress Bipasha Basu, who shot to fame in the initial years of her career working in blockbusters like RAAZ and JISM, is back in the Bhatt camp. That too after a gap of almost 7-8 years.

Though the first part was directed by filmmaker Anurag Basu, it is being said that the sequel would be directed by Mohit Suri and the film is set to go on floors by October.

We tried contacting director Mohit Suri, however there was no response from his end.
Anurag Basu's MURDER was a huge hit because of its seductive tracks, steamy scenes and rocking chemistry between the lead pair (Mallika-Emraan). Let's see what wonders the sequel does when it releases.

Sonakshi in Between Salman & Kat

Salman did not propose Katrina’s name for lead in his ‘Dabanggg.’ That role went to Sonakshi Sinha, the daughter of Shatrughan Sinha.

The two were seen in close company on the sets of film- and not just acting as per the script.
"Salman is a wonderful painter. Whenever he found himself free he started painting and I used to go and join him,” Sonakshi told a daily. It didn’t end there.

“Salman used to give me a theme and I used to paint accordingly, and when we see the final output, we used to find both the painting same. I never copied him but I think our style of painting is the same,” said the debutant actress.

However, what happened with Katrina is just a temporary act is not for sure. The lady was set to play the lead in the under-production film The Italian Job, being directed by Abbas-Mustan.

But all of a sudden, producer Aditya Chopra changed his mind and it might go in favour of Sonakshi Sinha, the daughter of Shatrughan Sinha.

But the change of minds and attitudes does not seem one sided. A source on the sets of Zoya Akhtar’s Zindaggi Milegi Na Dubara that stars Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif as the leap pair has revealed reports of sizzling chemistry between the two.

The two have been getting along rather too well, reports suggest.

Salman is well connect with Police

Salman Khan, who is once again playing police as his grandfather was a police officer and, of course, due to his own run-ins with the law. His brother Arbaaz Khan`s debut production ‘Dabangg’.

Salman, 44, has played a policeman in several films like ‘Wanted’, ‘Garv’ and ‘Auzaar’.

He started out in 1988 with the film ‘Biwi Ho To Aisi’. Salman gets philosophical when he says a star`s image is something created by others and if an actor himself starts believing in that image, then he is done for.

"I think because my grandfather was deputy inspector general (DIG) of police, Indore, I have this special thing for the cops. I have also shared a very long relationship...!" Salman told reporters with a laugh.

The actor spent time in jail in 2002 after his car allegedly ran over four people sleeping on a footpath. He once again went behind bars in 2007 in Jodhpur on charges of hunting an endangered deer.

"I lost a lot of weight and then it looked weird. You are playing a cop who is totally ribbed. I really wanted to look ribbed in the film," said Salman.

Salman had grown his hair for ‘Veer’, a look he really liked, and now he sports a moustache for the new flick, which also stars Shatrughan Sinha`s daughter Sonakshi. He admits he was a bit apprehensive about going for an image makeover this time.

"I had just finished `Veer` and I had to cut my hair very short... I didn`t want to. The long hair was looking good. It took so long to grow them; so I didn`t want anyone to cut them off."
