Aziz Mirza has almost always made movies with simple and ordinary storylines like Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman, Yes Boss, Chalte Chalte, But for some good reason they have clicked with the movie viewer. The only film people did not accept was Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani which was not just a simple love story but also had complex elements involved. With Kismat Konnection, the director tries his hand at something which has both – a small issue and a good amount of emotions.
The hero in Kismat Konnection is Raj Malhotra (Shahid Kapur). He is brilliant and been the winner throughout his life – until he reaches the life out of college. Suddenly he finds he is a loser with no money and no contacts. He's broken in this big bad world of business! Raj along with his best pal Hiten (Vishal Malhotra) has been trying to break into something desperately but nothing happens. However, Raj's luck changes whenever he meets Priya (Vidya Balan) although they start of hating each other
That's how his regular hero – Raj– acts in all his films. Vidya Balan is good too. Surprisingly, her dressing sense has improved, flaks notwithstanding and she looks nice, so what if only fo the film. Om Puri is efficient as usual. And Vishal Malhotra really does well as he adds the much-needed comic element. His camrederie with Shahid takes us back to the Ishq Vishk days during their debut together. Amit Verma is nice and Boman Irani and Juhi Chawla chip in with great cameo. Juhi Chawla, however, does not look too good. Poor screen presence.
