Ash-Abhi enjoying their break in waterfalls...

The couple has been enjoying their well deserved break with a stay at a picturesque resort beside the famous Athirappilly waterfalls near Chalakudy town for the last two weeks. Last few weeks have been quiet hectic for the couple following Amitabh Bachchan's illness and subsequent hospitalization later followed by a long shoot in the grueling conditions in Kerala forests with no mobile connectivity and harsh climatic conditions. Finally, the couple managed to get some time off to relax and get back on the sets rejuvenated.

Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan after completing their first production schedule for Mani Ratnam's Ravana on location in the Malayatoor forest near Kochi, Kerala are currently enjoying their short break. The Mani Ratnam film is supposedly a modern day adaptation of 'Ramayan', and an intense love story focused on the Ram-Sita pair, played by Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan in the Hindi version with south top star Vikram playing Ravana. But Vikram replaces Abhishek as Ram in the Tamil version.

Also it is learnt that a tight security cordon has kept the press and the fans away from the film set, as Mani Ratnam reportedly does not want anyone to get a glimpse of the look of the film. However, it has been leaked that Aishwarya arrived on the sets dressed as a Tamil Brahmin.

Which is your favorite track?

My favorite track is 'Jaane Kyun'. And I believe that 'Jaane Kyun' is the soul of the film Dostana.
What was it like working with Vishal and Shekhar?

I think they are brilliant music directors. They are very contemporary. When they get a brief from the director they know how to regulate the music according to the tempo of the film and that's what they have done. So I think they are super guys.

What made you decide to do this film?

Well, Karan called me and I went. He said Tarun Mansukhani (director) would like to narrate the script to you and I said ok. And as usual I go in ready to say no to every film that I have heard which I do with most of my films, and then I pick up the crazy experimental ones. I went in to hear it, I heard it and I was laughing through the entire narration. It finished and I said that I am not going to judge anything because if I am laughing then the entire audience is going to be laughing. It is a funny film. Then I said I would love to do it. The minute I knew that it was Abhishek in the film with me I just closed my eyes and said I will do it.

What was it like working with Priyanka Chopra?

Oh! Priyanka is a super co star. This is my third film with her. In salaam e Ishq we weren't pair opposite each other. She is my co star in Dostana now. She is just absolutely wonderful, absolutely professional and very confident. So it's a pleasure working with her. She is a very helpful co star as well.

The film is about friendship, what role does friendship play in your personal life?

There are few friends whom I consider as close as, or closer than my family. So I think friendship is something very dear and near to me and I live for my friends. The concept of friendship is alien concept outside some of our countries but still it's a beautiful concept that lot of us adopt because it makes the world a better place to live in.

This is a Dharma film production distributed by YRF, its coming together of two big production houses, what do you have to say about it as you are currently working on YRF?

Well like I say that the Dharma film distributed by YRF or YRF distributed by YRF itself, its like sitting in a Rolls Royce, just enjoy the ride. You have to promote the film but you don't have to do much outside of that because….how do I say it, it's like if you are passing by in a Rolls Royce people are going to look. You are going to enjoy the ride and people are going to look at the car and say oh! WOW! What a car!!! And I think that's the advantage of working with film houses like this. I am happy that I have done a Dharma film and I am happy that I will be doing a Yash Raj film and I think I am fortunate that they both have been gracious in having me in their film.

Nikita anand is the trademark of Shah Rukh Khan's character

Upcoming actress Nikita Anand's character in her new film 'Ek Second: Jo Zindagi Badal De' directed by Partho Ghosh will have the typical sarcastic and scary laughter, which was the trademark of Shah Rukh Khan's character in Yash Chopra's 'Darr'.

Nikita made her mark with her debut last year in Prakash Jha's sleeper hit 'Dil Dosti Etc.', sharing screen space with Shreyas Talpade and Imaad Shah. It can be noted here that just like Shah Rukh, she too has a lot of grey shades in 'Ek Second...' where her co stars include Manisha Koirala, Jackie Shroff and Pakistani star Moamar Rana.

"Nikita was actually given the brief to ape SRK's laughter of 'Darr' for the role. She was also told that her laughter throughout the film has to be as kameena as possible. And surprisingly, contrary to the normally chirpy girl that she is, Nikita has carried this off pretty well," says her publicist Dale Bhagwagar. Shah Rukh sure had us at the edge of our seats when he essayed the menacing character right in the beginning of his career. Now let's see how much of a scare Nikita manages to evoke.
